What is ECFA and what does it mean to be ECFA accredited?
The Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) is an American financial standards association representing evangelical Christ-centered organizations which qualify for tax-exempt, nonprofit status and receive tax-deductible contributions. Founded in 1979, ECFA accredits over 2,100 member organizations which have demonstrated compliance with its financial standards. ECFA holds its members to a high standard of accountability with respect to governance, financial management and stewardship / fundraising practices.
When you give to an ECFA accredited organization, such as The Road (a member since 2013), you are supporting a nonprofit organization you can trust to use the gift to carry out the Great Commission while meeting high standards; enhancing trust, transparency and integrity.
